Overview
Maitriser.ca is a French-language educational project about cryptocurrency, anchored by open translations of Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum into French with French-Canadian technical terminology.
What I Did
I lead the translation of two technical book projects, adapting terminology and tone for a Québec audience. The site itself is a static site that presents the material, hosts discussions of the translation choices, and points readers to the open repositories where the work lives.
Highlights
- Two full technical books translated and adapted for francophone Canada.
- Terminology work. Finding the right French for “blockchain”, “wallet”, and “smart contract” without sounding translated.
- Open by default. The translation work lives in public repositories where others can contribute.
